Welcome to the Class 9 web page.



Class 9 are learning about the Stone Age!

Our Literacy story is called ‘we are going on Mammoth Hunt’, during the story we will explore textures and props related to the story. Please ask if you would like a copy of our story and we will send one home.

In Numeracy we are using numbers 1-3, using the tunes from familiar rhymes and changing the words, e.g. 1 woolly mammoth went out to play. The children enjoy watching the objects been counted and track them as they are added or taken away.

In our cooking sessions weekly we are working on our Personal, Social & development targets. We explore and experiment with recipes from the past. This half term we have made honey tarts, shortbread and berry smoothies.

In rebound we are working on our physical targets, sitting independently on the trampoline, requesting more movement by tapping the trampoline bed, smiling at an adult.

In soft play we are working on our communication targets using a resource called Tacpac, the music we are listening to links in with our story.

(Tacpac is a sensory communication resource using touch and music to align the senses and develop communication skills. It helps those who have any kind of sensory impairment or communication difficulties)

In the sensory room we are learning about science, light and dark. Our session involves a parachute and a variety of light toys along with singing and switches for the children to activate.

Swimming is a weekly session, we join in with another class and move our bodies in the water along to songs with objects to encourage us.
