Music

Music is widely regarded as a tool to help pupils with special needs to develop their communication skills. These pupils can be introduced to new emotions and words through the use of music.

Delius have adopted the Sounds of Intent Framework. The aim of Sounds of Intent is to investigate and promote the musical development of children and young people with learning difficulties..

Music workshops are held by external bodies who attend the school weekly. As a school we have seen the positive impact these sessions have had on our pupil’s ability to coordinate their limbs, independently hold an instrument and to play along to a previously practiced rhythm. We can say with 100% confidence that our children enjoy music, whether they are creating music, listening to music or learning through music.

Christine, Tori and Matt are massive musical contributors to Delius.
